It is situated on the R45, only 120km from Cape Town in the heart of fynbos (Cape Flora) country with spectacular displays of wild flowers in and around the town during spring.
An internationally-renowned archeological site can be found about 13km south-west of Hopefield on the farm Elandsfontein. The Dutch Reformed Church is home to one of only ten Foster and Andrews Organs imported into SA which are still being used every Sunday and can be viewed by appointment.
