About the Cape Town Carnival
The annual Cape Town Carnival ignites the Mother City at the Fan Walk, Somerset Road in Green Point.
This is one of those special days in the Mother City that excites and unites the community with a spectacular celebration showcasing art, music and dance. Our five Carnival Hubs will each put on five 30 minute shows throughout the day, where 6 – 8 groups will show off their skills to tell a story through art, song, dance, music and more.
Then we clear the stage, sanitise the whole shebang, and it all begins again!
The Carnival celebrates a truly South African expression of Music, Dance and Arts and educate and inform the world of the rich culture and history of South Africa.
The Cape Town Carnival promises to be a magical event not to be missed!
