A 8 Day/8 night Dive tour where we will stay at a 3 star hotel about 150m from our dive shop.

We will stay about 150 from the water edge, so a quick swim or snorkel before we dive is possible. We will dive off a Dhow boat or motor boat.

There are 2 legs that you need to fly to get to Mafia Island.
South Africa to Dar es Salaam and then from Dar es Salaam to Mafia Island.

You need to fly to Dar es Salaam. From Dar es Salaam you must fly to Mafia Island.

Many different companies are flying to Dar es Salaam. Please choose and book your own flights.

From Dar es Salaam there are a few companies flying to Mafia Island. The last flight from Dar es Salaam to Mafia Island is at 4.30 pm and the 1st one from Mafia to Dar es Salaam is at 8.30 am.

Once you land in Mafia Island, the hotel will pick you up. Please let me, Sonja know when you will land at Mafia Island so I can arrange with the hotel.

Check out is 10 am, but you can arrange a late check out with the hotel on your return trip.

Schedule

Day 1 – 11 Dec
Fly to Dar es Salaam and then to Mafia Island, and transfer to the lodge. Please arrange your own flights.

Please note: You have to fly to Dar Es Salaam and then take a small charter flight to Mafia Island. There are many flight options to Dar Es Salaam. However, the flights to Mafia are limited; you must be able to fly from Dar es Salaam before 4.30 pm. They don’t leave later than 4.30pm from Dar es Salaam to Mafia. There are a few options to fly from Dar es Salaam to Mafia. Please check cheapflights.co.za

Day 2 to 8, all meals included

Dive each day, weather depending. The program will be discussed by the dive shop once we arrive. It might be a double tank dive or 1 dive and then another dive later in the afternoon.
Optional activities, short hikes

One of the days above, we will do a snorkel trip with the Whale sharks, not scuba diving.

Another day we will sail to a sandbank along the island, do an optional fish braai on a white sandbank with 1 scuba dive extra, or just a snorkel around the sandbank.
