Houw Hoek MTB Tour

The HH MTB TOUR is a non-competitive 2-day MTB stage event. The objective is to give MTB’s and newcomers to multi-stage events (NOT FOR NEWCOMERS TO MTB) the opportunity to enjoy a weekend of scenic fun and non-competitive riding. However, make sure that you are fit and that you can and love to ride single tracks. Both stages cover approximately 50 km on mostly gravel roads which include jeep- as well as many single-track sections.

Start times MTB at 7h45 and EBikes at 8h00, start from the lawn at the back of the Hotel

Registration 14h00 – 19h00 on 17 April at the Houwhoek Hotel

6h30 – 7h30 on 18 April at the Houwhoek Hotel

7h00 – 7h30 on 19 April at the Houwhoek Hotel

Start venue The Houw Hoek Hotel

Finish venue The Houw Hoek Hotel

Entry fee R 1200 per person (individual entries, not team entries), which includes a Hamburger and chips on Saturday and Worsroll and chips on Sunday at the Hotel.

It excludes accommodation.

ROUTE INFORMATION

The Houw Houk Tour gives you the opportunity to cycle some of the W2W routes and trails. The Tour aims to let you explore and experience what a multi-stage event is all about and offers a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. This is not a timed event, but a STRAVA segment will be created for each stage against which everyone can track their own timing and records.

The start and finish of both stages will be at the Houwhoek Hotel.

• Stage 1 on Saturday: Beaumont & Wildekrans Loop
  A 48.5km & 900m climb loop down the historic Kat- and Van der Stel Passes, Rooihoogte, Wildekrans, Botriver village and back up the Katpass, to the finish at the Hotel. The stage covers easy and interesting single tracks in Wildekrans.
  
  
• Stage 2 on Sunday: Paul Cluver Loop
  A 46.5km with 980m climb loop past Lebanon town, Paul Cluver and back along the Korteshoven and Houwhoek Switchback and Single Tracks. This stage covers iconic single-track trails such as Trunks, Boomslang, Pofadder and Witklippies.
