3. MC ELLIS se Fietswinkel | Beaufort West

You simply have to visit this “still functioning, old-world, bicycle shop” in the heart of Beaufort West. You’ll meet Tim Ellis, whose family has owned this shop for 3 generations since 1934! It was built in 1899 and is almost in a complete state of preservation with the exception of the loss of the original timber posts of the verandah.

This is a world-class theatre and cinema, with state-of-the-art equipment and a beautiful auditorium, all restored in the original art deco style. Movies are shown every week on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, and there are live shows on Saturday evenings and sometimes Sunday afternoons.
