The Western Cape Shines with its Blue Flag Beaches
The Western Cape boasts some of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world and continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable coastal tourism and environmental conservation — with 30 of its beaches proudly awarded Blue Flag status for the 2025/26 season.
What is the Blue Flag Award?
The Blue Flag is more than just a symbol waving along the shoreline — it’s an international eco-label that recognises beaches, marinas, and tourism operators that excel in environmental management, safety and accessibility, cleanliness, and community engagement.
