Key Safety Tips
No permits sold by individuals
Permits are sold only through official CapeNature channels. Be cautious of anyone offering “special access,” tour permits, or campsite bookings outside the official website or reserve offices.
Protect your belongings
Keep valuables tucked away while hiking or relaxing at picnic spots. Store wallets, cameras, and phones securely in your backpack and avoid leaving items visible in your car.
Check your vehicle & secure your gear
Before heading out onto a trail, ensure your vehicle is properly locked and that equipment is packed away safely. Always double-check your doors.
Stay aware on trails
Stick to marked routes, pay attention to signage, and let someone know which trail you are taking. Keep your phone safely tucked away while walking, use it only when necessary, and avoid wearing flashy jewellery or carrying loose items.
Respect wildlife and natural spaces
Observe animals from a distance, keep food packed away, and never attempt to feed wildlife. Staying alert helps protect both visitors and the natural environment.
