CapeNature works to conserve the province’s natural heritage and ensure a sustainable future, through a range of targeted programmes and projects.
In addition to safeguarding biodiversity, championing unique ecosystems such as the Cape Floristic Region, and educating visitors and local communities on environmental stewardship, CapeNature also offers memorable, authentic eco-tourism experiences for both local and international travelers. These experiences range from adrenaline-filled activities like bouldering, kloofing, and kayaking to more leisurely pursuits such as hiking, fishing, and whale watching. CapeNature offers a variety of eco-tourism products at 25 of its nature reserves.
CapeNature is proud to announce Doringkloof Nature Reserve, officially declared a Provincial Nature Reserve on 14 November 2025. Covering 209 hectares of mountains and plains, it’s the newest addition to CapeNature’s network of 112 nature reserves across the Western Cape.
Part of the Touw Valley Cluster, Doringkloof provides vital wildlife corridors for African Wildcat, Chacma Baboon, Steenbok, Gemsbok, and Kudu, helping these species thrive in their natural habitat.
Come explore, connect with nature, and support conservation efforts in this stunning corner of the Klein Karoo.
