The Cape Winelands Biosphere Reserve (CWBR) is a UNESCO-designated reserve (2007), covering 322,030 hectares in the Western Cape, just 40 km from Cape Town. Located within the Cape Floral Region UNESCO World Heritage Site, CWBR is known for its rich biodiversity, fynbos landscapes, and cultural heritage.
What Makes CWBR Unique:

- Ubuntu Bee Initiative (2024–ongoing): 20 rural women trained in beekeeping, apitourism, and entrepreneurship
- Mobile STEAM-Y Trailer: Bringing science and creativity to schools and communities
- EduLink Partnership: Local and international environmental education since 2015
- Climate & Ageing Recognition: Research partner with UCT’s ACDI and EU’s Healthy Ageing initiative
