Wesgro’s role
For more than 40 years, Wesgro has facilitated economic growth and job creation on behalf of the City of Cape Town, the Western Cape government and the region’ private sector. As the official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency, we provide investment recruitment and promotion, business facilitation, aftercare and advocacy services.
We serve as a strategic bridge between government and the private sector, connecting investors with financial institutions, professional service providers and sector associations to accelerate the investment process. Working with intelligence from our Research team, we engage with foreign embassies, consulates, high commissions and chambers of commerce – locally and abroad – to foster potential investment.
Our Investment Promotion team proactively recruits investments into Cape Town and the Western Cape, with a focus on export priority sectors including the green economy, life sciences and health, logistics, food and beverages, green manufacturing and services. As partners of the InvestSA One Stop Shop, we assist with everything from visas to tax compliance, providing dedicated support to help businesses establish and expand operations in the region.
