The information provides insight into the origin of tourists in the region as well as their preferred activities, ages, group sizes and spending patterns. The research is not intended to represent tourism for the region, as the sample of visitors represents only the footfall at the participating Weskus local tourism offices.

Between January and December 2025, the participating Weskus local tourism offices received 2,744 responses to the regional visitor tracking surveys. The domestic market accounted for 79.8% of visitors, primarily originating from the Western Cape (60.7%), while the share of overseas visitors represented 16.5% of the total sample of visitors to the region.
