After a quick safety guide and getting suited into our harnesses, we were off! We took a scenic 30-minute drive into the mountains to the beginning of the zip-line tour. The platforms were built into the sides of the mountains and the zip-lines, or slides, spanned back and forth across the valley. At the first slide, everybody's knees were a little wobbly, but with one or two slides under everybody's belt, we all started getting more confident and enjoying the thrill of the slides. And what a breathtaking experience it was! The sensation of floating and flying from mountainside to mountainside was quite a rush. There are 13 platforms and slides in total, with the longest slide stretching 320m long.

When we had completed the final slide, there was a quick hike back to the 4x4. This hike turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the experience. Our guides were great! They were so knowledgeable about the area and educated the group on everything from local wildlife to the plants of the Western Cape. We stopped multiple times to ask about certain flowers, and point out frogs and lizards we came across.
