A multi-stage endurance road racing event that covers 600km and almost 6,000m + of climbing, the Cape Rouleur is yet another premier cycling event based in Cape Town and the Western Cape. It is a pro style event that has rolling road closures, seeded groups commensurate with ability and full technical, medical, logistic and pro crew support. Cape Rouleur riders also get the opportunity to gain seeded entry to the Cape Town Cycle Tour followed by VIP hospitality. This gives participants a full week of cycling, comprising of a prologue, three stages of the Cape Rouleur and a 112km Festival ride into Cape Town escorted in style by the City traffic police.

The world’s largest timed cycle race, the Cape Cycle Tour is the jewel in the crown for cycling in the Mother City and easily one of South Africa’s largest – and most popular – sporting events. Pick n Pay Weekend Argus Rotary Knysna Cycle Tour

This scenic Garden Route course’s 104-km leg is an official seeding event for the Cape Argus. This is more than a one-off race though, this is a weekend of cycling, offering a 50km route for 12-years and older, meaning the whole family can take part. One of the most beautiful routes in the country, this is a must for families that cycle.

Coronation Double Century, Swellendam

This challenging team cycle race winds its way from Swellendam through the charming towns along the R62 and back again. Not for the faint-hearted, the challenge is the equivalent of an ultra-marathon.

Die Burger Cycle Tour

Date: December

One of the more famous official seeding events for the Cape Argus, the 97-km leg of this race takes competitors up over the Old Helshoogte Pass and alongside regiments of Cape Winelands vineyards. A shorter route is also available.
