DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION MANAGER
This is a permanent position subject to the successful candidate signing a Performance Agreement.

Purpose of the Position:
Wesgro embarked on a digital transformation journey, to move into a platform business to ensure sustainability, improving efficiencies, reduce costs, allow for an improved client, staff and stakeholder experience, become a central economic knowledge hub, being cybersecure and allow for scope, scale and speed as the agency delivers on its mandate and strategy.
A comprehensive digital transformation strategy has been developed, and a multi-year integrated approach is in place, designed to continuously evolve based on the Agency’s capacity and the changing needs of the clients we serve.

As part of this journey, Wesgro is modernising its digital ecosystem, including launching a new cloud-based platform and marketplace, implementing a CRM system, integrating AI tools, and developing a cloud lakehouse to drive insight-led decision making.
We are looking for a Digital Transformation Project Manager with a technical background to join our team and help us deliver this vision. The role will suit a technical savvy generalist who has the ability to move comfortably across workstreams, manage service providers, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to Wesgro’s strategic objectives.
Wesgro’s technology infrastructure includes:
- Microservices architecture
- Front end: HTML5, JavaScript
- Backend: Java
- Database: Microsoft SQL
- Server infrastructure: Cloud-based, Microsoft Azure
- Data Analytics Infrastructure: Apache Airflow, Delta Lake, Power BI Online
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Information Officer.
Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Project Management, or Business Administration
- A postgraduate qualification in technology or business management will be advantageous.
- Full stack web development will be advantageous (Java, JavaScript, and HTML)
- Project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing technology or digital transformation projects.
- Experience working with external service providers or systems integrators.
- Business analysis foundation will be advantageous.
- Proven delivery in one or more of the following domains:
- Platform development using Java (backend) and HTML/JavaScript (frontend)
- CRM implementation (Dynamics 365)
- Cloud-based systems or migrations (Azure)
- Data management, analytics (PowerBI), or AI integration projects
- Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery environments
Key Competencies:
- Competence in system architecture and solution design, including evaluating design alternatives, identifying integration points, and ensuring technology choices support long-term transformation roadmaps
- Strong understanding of cloud environments, APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Proficient in project tracking and collaboration tools (Jira, MS Project, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Excellent planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project planning, coordination, and delivery capabilities.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and engage effectively with technical teams.
- Skilled in vendor and stakeholder management, including reporting and governance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Sound financial and risk management acumen for project oversight.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and proactive approach.
Duties:
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of digital transformation projects, including oversee the development and maintenance of Wesgro’s platform, CRM rollout, AI integration, and data lakehouse implementation.
- Review and validate technical designs, architecture, and integrations to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Oversee technical implementation, including system testing, integration validation, and adherence to coding/architecture standards.
- Coordinate work across internal teams, technical partners, and service providers.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers.
- Monitor progress against deliverables and ensure adherence to scope and standards.
- Provide regular project status reports and insights to the CIO and relevant committees.
- Support governance, change control, and issue management processes.
- Facilitate project ceremonies and collaboration within agile/hybrid frameworks.
- Ensure integration and alignment across all technology workstreams.
- Promote knowledge sharing, adoption, and effective handover to operational teams.
