The Vino De Montana is an unique event that celebrate the proud history of the Italian Prisoners of War who built the original Du Toits Kloof Pass.
Day one will be a 5km prologue at the new race village called Oaklands near Wellington with a true Italian style dinner at the Pizza Vista Italian restaurant. at Val Du Charron after your run.
On stage 2 runners on the long route will make there way to the Italian Cross on top of the Huguenot Mountain Peak while running on some sections of the original Du Toits Kloof pass. As they enter the Miaspoort Trail a climb of 877m over 3km will await them. At the cross they will then traverse all along the crest of the Drakenstein Mountain back towards the finish line at our new race village near Wellington.
Runners on the short route (17km) will run on some of the best single track routes at Welavanpas.
The dinner on day 2 will be a traditional braai at the race village.
Day 3 will take the runners on the long route to the top of Du Toits Kloof pass where they will turn left into the spectacular Hawequa Mountains where the route will meander through the mountains towards the Bains Kloof pass before heading down to base camp at the race village at the bottom of the mountain. (30km)
Runners on the short route (15km) will again run on the spectacular routes at Welvanpas and the new Wild Boar Trails.
