Edu Invest, powered by Wesgro, warmly welcomes the announcement that APEX Education will establish a new primary and high school, Apex Pinelands, in Conradie Park, Pinelands.
This follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) instituted between Apex Education and Concor, the developers of the Conradie Precinct.
The new schools will open their doors in January 2026, welcoming the first group of Grade 1 and Grade 8 learners. The high school will start with an initial intake of 100 learners, with classes taking place in a heritage hall while construction is underway. The full campus is expected to be completed by December 2026. Upon completion, Apex Pinelands schools will offer Grade R to 12 and will accommodate up to 1,720 learners, creating more than 70 local jobs and contributing to community upliftment
Western Cape Provincial Minister of Education, David Maynier, welcomed the development, saying: “This partnership is a major step forward in expanding access to quality education in the Western Cape. Apex Pinelands will not only provide thousands of learners with excellent learning opportunities but also demonstrates how collaboration between government and the private sector can help address our education infrastructure needs.”
Apex Education, a non-profit organisation dedicated to establishing affordable independent schools, uses scalable hybrid and blended learning models to deliver high-quality education and strong academic outcomes. The Conradie Park schools will form part of Apex’s growing network, which includes campuses in Eersterivier and Kayamandi, Stellenbosch.
Speaking on the significance of the school group Jana Du Plooy, CEO of Apex Education said: “Apex Pinelands shows the power of partnership when government creates an enabling environment for organisations like ours to deliver meaningful change at scale. This flagship model allows children to access high-quality education right here in their own community, without needing to leave home to find opportunity.”
Commenting on Edu Invest’s commitment to new school builds in the region, Wesgro CEO, Wrenelle Stander said: “Education is fundamental to a thriving economy, and that is why Edu Invest is deeply committed to facilitating investment into new school developments that expand access to quality learning. We are proud to celebrate this development with Apex Education and look forward to the lasting impact the school will have on the community.”
This development reflects Edu Invest’s commitment to expanding access to quality, affordable education across the region. As the province grows, new school infrastructure is essential to strengthening communities and creating opportunities for learners.
