GOAL

The primary goal of Cape Town Air Access is to intensify and broaden Western Cape air access to targeted African and International markets to improve Western Cape economic competitiveness.

OBJECTIVES

Establishment of new routes and/or increased frequencies on existing routes into targeted countries.

Coordinated and cohesive stakeholder-led approach to improved air access.

Pooled resources and action to realise the goals of the Western Cape Air Access Strategic Framework and the plans that emanate from the Framework.

The provision of indirect marketing support to realise expanded air access.

Advocacy and alignment of policy, strategy and regulation with South Africa, as well as with target countries.

Developing greater air access for the Western Cape will be a key enabler in growing the province’s economy. In doing so strategic industry sectors will be unlocked that will lead to business incubation and job creation which will not only benefit the Western Cape, but South Africa as a whole. More direct services to Cape Town will make the Western Cape, and indeed South Africa, more competitive from a tourism and destination traveller point of view.
